Everyone loves a cruise!
Except those who are seasick.
And those caught on Gilligan's Island,
And those out to sea
In the middle of a Pandemic
Not able to come back.
Til they were sure it was over
And it was not.
But the passengers had run out.
Of patience's
And a good number of them
Were now infected with.
This new disease
They should not have had.
Nor would one want to be?
On any ship at all
If the United States
Should go to war.
In case of emergency,
The Coastguard is allowed.
To board all vessels
For inspections in their waters
While those in other conditions
Come under the war law.
The Navy can conscript.
Any crew into service
If necessary, during a battle
This includes fishing vessels.
And cruise ships
While many worry
About the latest airlines
Misadventures
Others don't even consider.
What will happen if for?
Some reason there is a problem.
With the navy during a war
Such as over in another part
Of the world
Where their ships might
Become damaged.
Or non-functional
Or their own crew
Or their own crew
Unable to function.
Then all ships in the area
Under their command
Our theirs to command
That includes American cruises.
Such as the newest Disney dream ships
Steamboat willie
Is just an icon.
Of an old life
Of a steamboat
Plying its trade
Before planes were so plentiful
Most steam ships.
No longer make the trip
Across the Atlantic
Nor up or down
The Mississippi
Due to lack of interest
They want splash.
They want dream dining.
And lots of dancing
How they pay for this
After they get home is a question
But all those ships
Come under the war laws.
Those American ships
In the same area as a battle
Are automatically under the command.
Of the US Navy
In fact, most of those Commander officers
Are already military trained.
Navy officers who get a second life
Riding around giving tourists
A thrill to see the sea.
But a lot of Californians
Especially don't understand.
These rules at all.
They think they can walk.
Anywhere and get away.
With anything.
With China now targeting
Our country with balloons
One does not know.
If a crisis will occur
The navy might be massive.
But it can't cover the entire
Globe at one time
And Jimmy likes to make.
Life difficult with his tricks
He uses various things.
Since he was allowed
To be everywhere at the same time
He can make the electricity
Catch on fire
Or the wireless go crazy
Or almost anything at all
And military installations
Used to be his specialty.
Where he would have his way
With the men before he would
Release them back into their world.
He got away with it so long.
That most expected he was going to be caught
One day and punished.
Maybe he was caught.
And buried in someone's backyard.
A substitute showing up.
Making us all jump
At his every move
No one knows.
What a mad man is going to do
But this guy is unbelievable.
When he is not mixing up couples
Causing divorces
He is getting into politicians.
Faces with his feces.
Making them come together.
At awkward moments
Just so he can enjoy himself.
Causing World War three
Is one of his main aims in life
After all when they get done
Killing each other off
Then he will be the only
One left to be the ruler.
Of nothing at all.
He does not think.
Very far ahead.
While America is circling the globe
And attempting too not be obvious
Of their concern of Russia
China has become a problem.
There might be a day.
When there are no ships
Available
Except those pretty cruise ones
Who are now up to date
With the latest's devices
Just don't have weapons.
Those can be added.
While the customers
Are confined to thier cabins
On rations with food
Arriving on a different schedule
Just as anyone who got quarantined.
One got what one got.
No seconds much less returns
Wrong food delivery
Or none at all
And where is my coffee?
It is coming, not really.
Click,
Crews will be under orders.
And the kitchens will have.
To consider how much is left.
Over from those working
And those locked inside.
Really small chambers
What is next for modern America?
Instead of a moon landing
The falling of satelites
Back to earth
Most of them seem to land
In the Pacific Ocean
Look out all those boats.
Bless the middle class
Who believe in fifty-year mortgages
And credit cards with no limits
Taking in all the sites they can
From concerts they don't need to go to
To trips across water
That don't go anywhere.
Just as most of the current
Dialogue is about them.
Not wanting to have been.
Told they had to stay at home.
For this virus
Then not getting it
Or it being nothing more.
Then a mild cold
They want out of the house.
Those who still have houses
Never mind the ones on the other side
Who are caught in a battle?
Of wills over territory
With no place to go
Please Candace, go pack a bag...
